The new intake of Royal Navy CCF Cadets enjoyed a sunny, albeit rather windy, afternoon at Cheddar Reservoir. As part of the Royal Navy’s afloat training the Cadets will spend the first half of this term under instruction from an RYA training facility to learn to rig, launch and sail vessels. The Cadets took to the water with great enthusiasm and resilience in face of the chilly conditions and reported having a fantastic time. Next time they will be expected to develop autonomy in the rigging and launching of their vessels, testing their ability to work together in small teams to ensure the safety of their peers on the water.
