Wellesley House was the first girls’ House at King's, and we have a special team spirit that is evident everywhere.
Wellesley girls always give time and commitment to all they do and they are encouraged to reach their full potential academically, musically, artistically or on the sports field.
Our aim is to ensure the girls feel happy, safe and secure in a home from home environment. The House has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere where everyone looks after one another; the older girls acting as ‘big sister’ to the younger girls with time, encouragement and words of advice. We enjoy spending time together, whether baking brownies, cuddling the House pets or going on House trips to Splashdown!
The House opened in 1984 with just eight Sixth Form girls and now we have more than five times as many girls aged between 13 to 18, who over the years have gone to Oxbridge, reached Grade VIII with Distinction in music and represented their County, and Country in sport.
