An excellent Strings and Piano Concert...

We were treated to an excellent Strings and Piano Concert. The String Group opened the concert with a performance of two contrasting folk pieces. This was followed by a series of solo works for violin, cello, piano and acoustic guitar. The Guitar Ensemble performed two popular works in the middle of the concert by Keane and Coldplay, and the Piano Trio closed the concert with two contrasting works by Offenbach and Brahms. There was a wonderful variety of genres covered during the evening from Folk and Pop to Baroque and Classical. Huge congratulations to all the pupils involved and our grateful thanks to the music teachers for preparing them so well.
