Congratulations to Georgia who has been awarded a combined hockey and academic scholarship to study at Fairfield University in the United States...
Georgia herself writes:
“I am thrilled to have signed to Fairfield University in Connecticut, USA on a hockey and academic scholarship! Fairfield is a Division 1 university, about a 1 hour train ride from New York City, where the athletic programs are known as Fairfield Stags. I have wanted to study and play hockey in America since I heard about the opportunity to do this in 3rd Form through a talk given at King’s Bruton, so it is great to be at this point, and at the beginning of an amazing journey. I plan to major in Sports Media, as I aspire to go into sports journalism. I would like to thank Mr Eriksson and Mr Daws for being so supportive throughout this process, I really appreciate your help. GO STAGS!” - Georgia U6th Form Priory House
Georgia has been single-minded in her resolve to study at a US college for a number of years and to gain a sports scholarship in order to make this possible. It has taken hard work, both on and off the sports field, but the reward is now clear to see. Her ambition has been most impressive and she will now be able to look ahead to an incredible experience and the unique opportunities offered by a US college education. We wish her every success as she competes with the Stags’ Field Hockey Team!
