Rugby vs Monkton Combe

On the rugby front, this weekend saw the second leg of the Monkton block fixture, delivering six competitive rugby fixtures. The juniors faced challenging opposition, playing three tightly contested games at U14 and U15. Despite their efforts, the juniors fell short, succumbing to Monkton’s robust performances. The senior teams turned the tide in their favour, securing three impressive wins across the weekend. The U16A’s battled hard to claim a well-earned 19-7 victory. Their resilience in defence and tactical execution under pressure proved the difference in a close-fought encounter. The 2nd XV delivered a commanding performance, demonstrating their depth and cohesion. The team cruised to a comprehensive win over Monkton’s 2nds, a testament to their preparation and teamwork this week. Finally, the 1st XV continued their stellar season with a dominant display, overwhelming Monkton’s 1st team. The match ended 30-10.

Hockey vs Monkton Combe

It was another busy hockey week as the West Indoor Hockey finals began, as well as the block fixture with Monkton Combe on Saturday. It was a very impressive second place finish for the boys’ U16s in their West Final, whilst the U18 girls finished a commendable fourth, ranking them both as two of the very best indoor hockey sides in the region. Against Monkton Combe, there were pleasing and deserved victories for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and U15A teams, which included a hatrick from Lina F in the U15 fixture. Well done to Harriet V, Greta B-S, Sophie W, Chloe B, FiFi M, Bonnie B and Patience B for being named players of the match in their respective matches.

Football vs Canford

The 1st XI football team recorded a comprehensive 3-0 away win against Canford 2nd XI. This was an outstanding team performance with a strong defensive and fluid attacking display. A sensational strike from Benji P, followed by two quick fire goals from Tommy W in the first half sealed the result.

A well-deserved player of the match goes to Reuben M-F for his leadership skills and determination to win every ball in the centre of defence.
