The rugby and hockey seasons got off to very good starts, with block fixtures versus Monkton Combe and Dauntsey’s respectively...
King’s rugby began the season with a thrilling block fixture against Monkton, showcasing over 130 players across all age groups. The U14s and U15s hosted three well-contested matches, while the senior teams travelled to Monkton. The 2nd XV delivered a solid performance, securing a 26-18 victory. The 1st XV, put on a remarkable defensive display, shutting out Monkton with a commanding 29-0 win. This outstanding result is particularly notable as it marks the first time King’s has triumphed over Monkton’s 1st XV since 2017.
On the hockey pitches, the girls’ teams lined up against tough opposition from Dauntsey’s. However, it ended up being the most competitive set of fixtures with an excellent victory for the 1st XI, whilst the U15A and U14A teams recorded well fought draws. The remaining games were separated by a goal or two in what was a very pleasing afternoon of hockey overall. Well done to Anna I, Leggy M, Geneva N, Edie K-H, Izzy J, Juliette C, Sophia W and Patience B for being named players of the match in their respective matches.
Congratulations to Daisy T-D and Islay R-P who competed in the NSEA 3 Day Event Championships, where they finished 7th and 8th respectively. This is a great achievement and experience of their first 3 day event.
