This year’s Sixth Form Dinner held in the Memorial Hall on Thursday evening was a great success, writes Gilly Bunday, Events Manager.
The aim of the dinner is two-fold: firstly to integrate and welcome the new L6th Form in to the Sixth Form and secondly to give them all the experience of a formal dinner. The event was preceded by briefings about etiquette at a formal dinner and bow tie tying lesson!
The pupils were a credit to King’s; they looked immaculate and good manners and good grace were on display throughout. The food from our Catering Department was superb, the proof of which was the minimal waste at the end of the meal. The meal gave a fantastic opportunity for the Catering Department to use the new Hospitality Suite. Fourteen members of staff willingly gave up their evening to wait on tables, for which I am extremely grateful.
The dinner was concluded with the Loyal Toast and a short speech from the Head Boy, Luke, before all the pupils returned to their houses having thoroughly enjoyed the evening. An album of photos from the evening can be seen below.
