L6th Form A Level Biology pupils enjoyed their practical on Mitosis...

The L6th Form Biologists were undertaking one of their “required practical” lessons, and spent some time preparing slides of meristematic tissue, from garlic roots. It is a difficult experiment to get right, and the aim was to be able to calculate the mitotic index from their preparations. The images show cells that are undergoing mitosis and the pupils had some really impressive results.
