It has been a busy week for the Boys’ 1st XI with two cup matches. Tuesday saw the team face Bristol Grammar School in the Independent Schools’ Hockey Cup (ISHC), and after a high-quality encounter, it was wonderful to see the team secure a 2-1 victory to progress. On Thursday we welcomed Portsmouth Grammar School and a physical and competitive match ended with King’s winning 1-0, courtesy of a Mats penalty corner goal, which sets up a match with Canford in Round 2. An intense week ends with a notoriously difficult trip to Exeter School on Saturday and the team will be looking to make it three wins from three matches.
