The Community Concert and Tea is one of my highlights of the school year. We combine the skills of our BTEC Hospitality pupils with the talents of our musicians to give nearly 100 local elderly folk an afternoon to remember. Interestingly, one of the elderly ladies introduced herself to me and told me that she had trained as a nurse with my mother at St Thomas's, London and they both had toured Yugoslavia by train together in the 1950s when they were 19 years old! It's a small world.
