The annual Woodwind Concert took place in the Hauser & Wirth Recital Hall last Friday evening. There were many excellent solo performances interspersed by ensembles including the Clarinet, Flute and Saxophone Ensembles.
The Clarinet Ensemble opened the Concert with House of the Rising Sun arranged by Farnon. The Flute Ensemble performed towards the middle of the Concert with a beautiful and effective arrangement of the choral work Cantique de Jean Racine by Gabriel Faure. The Saxophone Ensemble closed the concert playing Water Colours by Buckland, providing a fitting close to the concert. Each ensemble delivered performances marked by meticulous phrasing, precise articulation, and dynamic expressiveness.
The soloists were outstanding, and all deserve huge credit for their super performances - well done and congratulations to all involved, and particular thanks to our flute, clarinet and saxophone teachers Mrs Arcoleo and Mrs White for all their hard work to prepare the pupils and ensembles.
Congratulations to all involved for an outstanding concert that truly celebrated a variety of woodwind music!
