Sixth Form Educational Trips

Seven U6th Form pupils represented King’s Bruton and Serbia at the Magdelen College, School Model United Nations conference in Oxford.

Debating in separate committees on issues such as the United Nations recognition of Kosovo, LGBTQ+ global education, air and water pollution in China, and the retention of the Smallpox vaccine. Isabel did particularly well debating historical issues such as the break-up of Yugoslavia, and the Cuban Missile Crisis imagining it was 1991 and 1962 respectively. The emergency motion imagined war between Iran and the United States of America, during which Donald Trump was assassinated and the pupils were given the task of attempting to resolve the issue.

All pupils debated with aplomb and represented the School especially well in a challenging and stretching arena. Alex received special commendation receiving the award of the best delegate on his committee and also argued effectively and convincingly in front of the entire General Assembly.
