On Tuesday 19th March, the Business and Economics department welcomed industry experts to the Hauser & Wirth Recital Hall to talk to 6th Form pupils about their industries and career paths. Entrepreneur Crispin Busk (CEO and founder of Kabuto Noodles) talked about the challenges he has faced, which surprisingly, did not include Covid, a period that actually saw sales increase. Richard Wright, Head of Compliance at Tyndall Investment confirmed that most investment firms do actually look at the quality of degrees when recruiting. Catherine Conway, Director of GoUnpackaged gave us a fascinating insight into her business advising big brands, including the discounters Lidl and Aldi, on reusable packaging. Helen Wilmshurst of Proveca talked through her day as Head of Marketing, and also the company’s constant focus on R&D which has recently included a breakthrough development of an easily digestible medicine for sick children.

Matilda (L6th Form, Arion House) commented that it was ‘A really enjoyable, informative event which I could actually apply to my studies’ and Monty (L6th Form, New House) added ‘I thought all the speakers were really engaging’.

Definitely one for the calendar next year!
