On Friday, the L6th Form pupils spent their evening thinking about what options are available to them beyond their time King’s at the annual L6th Form Careers Convention.
There were two keynote speakers (Jamie Edwards and Callum Thorner – both OBs) who started the evening off by speaking about the path they had taken since leaving King’s to get to where they are now. Jamie is a Pathways Operations Manager with Amazon and Callum, an Aerospace Engineering Undergraduate Apprentice at Airbus. Following these inspiring talks, the parents remained in the Fitzjames Theatre where Mr Daws spoke through the various options beyond King’s and the process of applying to UCAS to the parents, whilst the pupils went into the Sports Hall to meet three delegates of their choice.
Delegates were from a wide range of professions including; Architecture, Finance, Hospitality, Sports Coaching, Medicine, Marketing, Music Production and Charity Fundraising to name a few. It was a very successful evening, introducing the pupils to various careers that before Friday, they might not even have considered.
