Weekend Rugby Fixtures Roundup - 9th November 2019
This week the Headmaster has decided that all three of these teams are Team of the Week.
Team of the Week - 1st XV - Won 16 - 11
Man of the Match - Felix
The 1st XV got their second win of the season against Monkton Combe. For the first time this year we had a full strength team against a strong Monkton team. The combination of hard work from the forwards and silky play from the backs put huge amounts of pressure on Monkton. Strong carrying from Hector, Toby, Alex and Oliver gave Theo good ball to play with. Our focus this week was to make sure we come away with points when we get into the 22. Theo kicked two penalties to make it 6-0 in the first 15 minutes. We then started to give a lot of penalties away which allowed Monkton back into the game. However, we didn't give up and despite having two yellow cards, we manage to score a driving maul with the forwards. A contender for try of the season is up for grabs when Johnny came on and put through a crossfield kick for Felix to score. We thoroughly deserved the win and well done to the boys for putting everything into the game.
Team of the Week - 2nd XV - Won 31-7
Tries - Gabriel (x2), Oliver, Adam
Conversions - Gabriel (x4)
Team of the Week - U15As - Won 17-12
