Team of the Week
The 2nd XV have always had very tough but competitive fixtures against Dauntsey’s and in years gone past this has been a fixture that has really set the team up for the season and allowed us to gauge where they are at. On a lovely sunny Saturday afternoon, the King’s 2nd XV took to Hyde and the glorious 2nd XV pitch. The 2nd XV exploded out of the blocks and immediately put Dauntsey’s under pressure. Tackling low and hard and moving forward with every phase, they quickly earnt a penalty and Gabriel secured a well deserved 3 points. King’s kept the pressure on, using the width of the pitch and the pace of Felix, Rob and Archie well. A period of sustained pressure led to a King’s try and King’s secured a well deserved 10-0 lead thanks once again to the boot of Gabriel.
However, Dauntsey’s started to exert huge pressure, running through the phases and capitalising on King’s mistakes and some poor discipline at the break down. This led to Dauntsey’s scoring a quick tap penalty, and then shortly after half time going over in the corner after another penalty. At this point King’s lost a couple of players to the 1st XV and through injury and a few players stepped up from the 3rd XV. At this point the team came together really well, secured the ball and took advantage of a tired Dauntsey’s. King’s then manage to steal the ball on their own try line and 20 passes later they had scored a brilliant try that many of the 2nd XV will recount in years to come. With the score at 17-10 King’s tackled well and finally stole the ball once again before a long kick down field closed the game out. A very good performance with some outstanding periods of play. A huge mention must go to Gabriel for his boot and how he led the team, Archie, Oliver, Sam, Felix, Rob and Sandy joining Gabriel in the back line and showing real strength and flare.
The forwards worked hard all afternoon and it was amazing to see Jacob really step up to this level. Player of the Match went to Tom who finished the final try and had a brilliant game going forward and securing the ball.
A fantastic way to start the season, a brilliant competitive game and a great bunch of young men to coach. A special mention must go to Adie and his team for the incredible job they have done on the pitches this year

Team of the Week
The 2nd XI made a fantastic start to the season with a comfortable victory over Prior Park after a very accomplished performance. Rosie made it 1-0 in the first half after some good work down the right wing and King’s showed glimpses of what they are capable of. The second half was outstanding as King’s increased the tempo, intensity and overall quality of their play with Prior Park not being able to live with the way that King’s moved the ball. A thunderbolt of a strike from Emily made it 2-0 to secure victory which on another day would have been by a greater margin.
3rd XI - Won 1-0
Goal: Holly. Players of the Match were Lily and Charlotte.
U15A - Lost 1-0
Player of the Match was Davina.
U15B - Won 2-1
