U6th Form Chemistry pupils attended Bath University for advanced laboratory investigations...
The U6th Form Chemists attended Bath University this week to conduct some advanced laboratory investigations. Pupils separated and identified the components of a medicinal drug, successfully determining the formulation. They used many advanced techniques, such as infrared spectroscopy and nuclear resonance spectrometry, with some pieces of equipment worth over half a million pounds! It was a very exciting opportunity to experience practical work in the university laboratories, and obtain an insight into what studying Chemistry at University might actually be like.
