A roundup of of sport from Week 1...
Hockey vs Dauntsey's
On a swelteringly hot afternoon, it was brilliant to see the girls’ hockey teams back in action in a block fixture with Dauntsey’s. There were some excellent performances and I’m very impressed by both the hockey that the girls played, as well as the resilience shown by all the teams to cope with the heat.
Rugby vs Monkton Combe
King's Bruton played a block fixture against Monkton Combe with all but the 1st XV playing a gradual return to contact variation of rugby. The 1st XV felt confident going into this year with having a strong preseason. Saturday's match was a great advocate of schoolboy rugby with a lot of heart shown on the pitch. There was a lot of positive to take from the game and we adapted in defensive well. Alex finished a fantastic try from a cross field kick showing we are capable of some fantastic attacking rugby this season. Player of the match - Ben.
Boys 1st Team Badminton vs Wells Cathedral School
A thoroughly enjoyable game to watch from the side lines and a match that was played in high spirits throughout.
