There were was so much going on Saturday afternoon and just a huge thanks to all the staff for making it all possible!
The King’s team started on the front foot and applied pressure with skill and fast passing and movement. Some excellent touches from Luke and penetrating runs from Jack lead to some good chances that were not taken. Dauntsey’s took the lead against the run of play, but a few minutes later Ewan made a fantastic move culminating in a cutback to Tom, whose positioning was perfect to tap in from in front of the goal. For the rest of the half, it remained even between the teams. In the second half, Dauntsey’s were in control early on and scored with an incisive attack to take the lead 2-1. It became more and more challenging as the pitch cut up and both teams struggled to make their passing games work. As King’s went more direct, they had a bit more joy and as the pressure mounted a corner from the right fell to Louis to slot in the equaliser. For the last 10 minutes King’s were on top, but Dauntsey’s were always a threat, with a few minutes to go Tom was brought down by the keeper, the penalty was given, and Jay's well struck shot hit the underside of the bar, but agonisingly bounced on the wrong side of the line. The game ended as a deserved and fair draw, 2-2.
Player of the Match: Tom - Who scored a goal, was given a penalty and kept the defence busy for the whole game.
Senior Boy’s 1st Team lost 21-15.
