The first of our two annual Joint Concerts with Hazlegrove took place last night in the Theatre at Hazlegrove.
The evening was framed with combined forces ensembles; the Joint Orchestra opened the evening with a performance of Die Fledermaus (J. Strauss) and ended with the King’s Military Band and Hazlegrove Wind Band combining to perform the Overture to The Addams Family Musical (arr. T. Rickett). It was great to see the Hazlegrove musicians rising to the challenges of the music and King’s pupils supporting younger musicians. There were strong individual performances from the King’s Big Band, Chapel Choir, Chamber Choir and Orchestra and Hazlegrove’s Senior Strings, Voices, Wind Band, Guitar Ensemble and Percussion Ensemble.
It was a fantastic evening that showcased the high standard of music at both King’s and Hazlegrove. Well done and congratulations to all involved!
