Weekend Fixtures Roundup - 21st September 2019

Rugby

Team of the Week - 2nd XV
The 2nd XV took to the pitch against a strong and physical Blundells team. The first 15 minutes were brutal, with both teams physical in both attack and defence. However, it was King’s that broke the deadlock through some well worked attacking moves. In hot conditions, the temp of the game remained high and King’s consistently put Blundell’s under pressure. The forwards secured good ball, the backs crossed the gain line and the team stuck to their plan. Some huge hits in the second half reinforced the ferocity of the game. King’s eventually ran out 40-0 winners. Try scorers were Felix x3, Adam x2 and Gabriel. Conversions Oliver x3 and Harry x2. This was another outstanding performance from the 2nd XV with players adjusting to cover injuries. Murray played his first game of senior rugby for King’s and was outstanding in both attack and defence and deserved the Man of the Match award. A brilliant game of rugby played in amazing conditions!

It was a tough day for the 1st team. They played really well but couldn’t convert in the red zone and lost ball too easily. The boys are still happy with their performance which is pleasing to see.
