Upper Sixth Form athlete Ellen has been selected to compete for England and Great Britain over the summer.
Heptathlete Ellen was called up for the national squads after coming third in the National Under 20 Combined Events Championship at Bedford over the weekend.
Ellen scored a personal best of 4,834 points, particularly impressive because she was competing against full time athletics students from Loughborough and Bath Universities.
She also scored four personal bests in individual events, including the High Jump and Hurdles. The other events were Long Jump, Shot, Javelin, 200 metres and 800 metres.
Ellen will now represent England in the Home Internationals in Hexham, Northumberland in July, before heading off to represent Great Britain in an International Athletics Federation event in Tenerife.
Pip Atkinson-Kennedy, Director of Sport, said: “We are very proud of Ellen for what she has achieved. This weekend’s achievement was particularly impressive because of the competition. She wasn’t overawed by competing against university athletes and thoroughly deserves her international selection.”
