A Music and Drama trip to see 'Wicked'...

Last Tuesday, a group of mainly music, but also drama pupils had the opportunity to watch the famous musical “Wicked” in the Bristol Hippodrome (the story is essentially the novel “The Wizard of Oz” told from the witches´ point of view). After an early supper we went to Bristol with Mr Marshfield and Ms King, who organised this trip for King´s pupils since the musical first came out in the early 2000s. I did very much enjoy the performance - the combination of well interpreted songs and varied choreographies made it a joy to watch and listen to. Also, as I am both a drama and music (technology) pupil, it was a good opportunity to try and apply what I have learnt in class so far to a real-life event. For example, I had already been to a show in London last half-term, and therefore, could compare both performances with each other, in terms of music as well as dramatic elements. To everyone who likes good music and an entertaining story, I would highly recommend attending this trip next year!
