Recently, two of our 4th Form boys were selected to go on the U15 Winter Squad tour of India with the Somerset Cricket Board, and completed a successful tour.

Harry  - Old House

"For 10 days I was lucky enough to have visited India with Somerset Cricket. Apart from the amazing sporting experience of playing cricket in an amazing environment, I experienced a different culture. I saw the wonders of the Taj Mahal and the amazing architecture which shows extreme wealth and extreme poverty. What I witnessed has had an impact on me and made me realise how fortunate we all are. All the teams we played were passionate about cricket and they were great hosts."

Jay - Lyon House

"India was an extraordinary place and so much different to England, it was an interesting place and a great experience. You didn’t even have to go outside to realise the different and unique culture. The people are so much less privileged and you realise how different life is for different people. My highlights were playing at an international stadium and obviously scoring a hundred. Seeing the buildings especially the Taj Mahal was also a highlight of the tour, I would love to go back one day."

Louis Corbin O'Grady - Head of Cricket

"When I spoke to Jay and Harry about their trip to India, I expected them just to tell me they had a good time and enjoyed playing a lot of cricket. Even though this was the partially the case, what became even more apparent as I spoke to them is how much they enjoyed the cultural aspect of their trip too. They seem to have been really affected by the humble charm and friendliness of the Indian people. Jay and Harry both felt very lucky to be in a position to visit India and were made to feel very welcome, even when some of the people had very little. Jay and Harry both enjoyed their trip greatly and look forward to returning to India in the future."
