The U16 Girls’ Hockey Team have retained their West of England outdoor hockey title by winning five out of five matches to secure their qualification to the National Schools’ Hockey Finals at the Olympic Park in London in March.
On Thursday, King’s sailed through the group, defeating Colstons 7-0, Wycliffe 4-0 and Marlborough 4-0 on their way to setting up a semi-final with Millfield. This fixture brought the very best out of the King’s girls as they raced into a four goal lead. Despite Millfield scoring two goals very late on, King’s won 4-2 to qualify for the final versus Blundell’s. The final started slowly due to some tired legs, however King’s soon found their stride again and they secured a comfortable 5-1 victory. The girls can all be incredibly proud of their performance and achievement and this is testament to all of their hard work.
