On Wednesday the 14th September, King’s Bruton welcomed over 200 young hockey players from local prep schools to contest the U11 Tyndall’s and U13 Hippisley Trophies.

Played in glorious sunshine, the atmosphere at both tournaments was outstanding, with lots of exciting hockey being played and many competitive matches being contested throughout the afternoon. Following some intense pool matches, the semi-finalists were known. In the U11 tournament, King’s Hall, Hazlegrove, Queen’s College and Millfield Prep would be left competing for the Tyndall’s Trophy, whilst in the U13 competition, Hazlegrove, Taunton Prep, The Downs and Queen’s College would fight it out to be this year’s Hippisley Trophy winners. After some very closely contested semi-finals and finals, this year’s winners were known, with King’s Hall being crowned the Tyndall’s Trophy winners and Queen’s College securing the Hippisley Trophy.

A short time-lapse video of the U11 tournament played on Tyndall's Astro Pitch can be watched below. I would like to thank all of the participating pupils and staff for allowing the tournament to be played in such fantastic spirit and to everyone at King’s who helped to make this event such a success.
