A superb Winter Concert...
The Winter Concert took place on Friday 1 December in the Hauser & Wirth Recital Hall. It was a superb evening from start to finish with the concert opening with the Orchestra playing a demanding and exciting Les Misérable Medley - the orchestra were on fine form with over 35 players combining to make a real impact! This was followed with the Military Band playing a medley of the music from Chicago. The remainder of the concert featured performances from various ensembles large and small including: String Ensemble, School Choir, Girls’ Band, Boys’ Band, Chapel Choir, Trombone Ensemble, Groove Band, Guitar Ensemble, Piano Trio and Chamber Choir. Mention should go to Sebastian (New House, L6th Form) who ably conducted the String Ensemble in the absence of the teacher - well done, Sebastian! There were so many highlights during the evening, and all the pupils performed brilliantly well. It was wonderful to see the pupils enjoying performing together in a packed Recital Hall. The Concert was preceded by drinks kindly served by 6th Form BTEC Hospitality pupils, and my thanks also go to them and Mrs McMunn for all their work behind the scenes to produce some festival canapés for the audience to enjoy.
Well done to all involved on an outstanding evening of music!
