King's Bruton wins the Somerset County Cup Netball Tournament...

A small squad of girls travelled to Taunton School for the rescheduled Somerset County Cup Netball Tournament. The format was round robin, playing every other team in the competition. We started with a very strong win over King's College Taunton, then a tough loss to Taunton School, despite being in the game at 7-8, well into the second half! After a quick break we played Richard Huish College and fought hard to earn a 8-8 draw. Following this we played Wells Cathedral School, who had previously beaten Taunton School, and had a fantastic game to run away with the result! The final 2 games were against Downside School, which was very slow and cautious, resulting in a very close 5-4 victory, and then Queen's College Taunton, which the girls played very well in to end the tournament on a high. With 3 teams in the running for top spot, other results went our way and we finished 1 point clear of Richard Huish College to win the County Cup for the first time in King’s Bruton’s history! A brilliant achievement to finish a very good season for these girls!
