King’s hosted the Somerset Region U15 Girls' Cricket Lady Taverners Finals Day...
On Thursday afternoon, King’s hosted the Somerset Region U15 Girls' Cricket Lady Taverners Finals Day. King’s would face tough opponents, and eventual winners in Taunton School, to qualify for the next round of the competition. Winning the toss and electing to field first, King’s found themselves on the end of some destructive batting from the Taunton School openers, before an excellent run out by King’s broke the partnership. King’s would chase 81 to win. A nervy start with the bat led to a couple of early wickets being lost, however, the girls regrouped well and formed some great partnerships in the middle overs. This wouldn’t be enough to get us over the line as we finished 30 runs short of the total. The girls can be extremely proud of this year’s indoor cup run, and hopefully this has prepared us well for the outdoor season and National Cup fixtures ahead.
Many thanks to King's College Taunton, KES Bath and Taunton School for travelling, and for such a great afternoon of cricket.
