A fabulous Summer Concert...
On Friday evening, the Summer Concert took place in the Hauser & Wirth Recital Hall. The Concert opened with the Orchestra performing Pomp and Circumstance No. 4 in G major, followed by the famous aria Der Hölle Rache from Mozart’s opera The Magic Flute, with Amelia as the soloist, who effortlessly glided up to top Fs! The Military Band followed with Will performing a solo within an arrangement of Queen’s hit Don’t Stop Me Now. Lily and Rafe featured in the Chapel Choir’s performances of Wesley’s anthem Blessed be the God and Father and John Rutter’s A Ukrainian Prayer respectively. The School Choir performed including a solo from Lily in an arrangement of Come Fly With Me. There were also performances from the band Lateral Flow, Chamber Choir, Senior Wind Quintet, Brass Group, Trumpet Consort, Flute Ensemble and Big Band. There were many highlights during the evening, and all the pupils performed brilliantly. It was wonderful for them to have an appreciative audience. The Concert was followed by convivial refreshments provided by some of the Sixth Form BTEC Hospitality pupils.
Well done to all involved on an outstanding evening of music at King’s!
