Chemistry Educational Trips

On Monday evening, 6th Form Chemistry pupils attended the final Chemistry Symposium of this academic year.

They joined pupils from Clayesmore, Leweston, Millfield, Sherborne Boys and Girls Schools. Some very interesting talks were given on the use of zebra fish to research and develop potential treatments for human heart disease, the use of nanotechnology in cancer therapy, the lanthanides, how alien life might evolve and the future of straws.

Jake and Mike from King's explained how ten scientists died during the course of their research, including the infamous Marie Curie and the relatively unknown Sheri Sangji.

Many thanks again to Sherborne Girls School for hosting this event.

Sadie Osborne - Head of Chemistry
