Tuesday night's 'A Night At The Theatre' concert was incredibly impressive, writes David Gorodi, Director of Music.
The more senior and experienced musicians were outstanding but I’d like to focus on some of the less experienced singers from last night as they were equally impressive. Hector (Blackford House) opened the concert, he has a silky rich voice, very resonant, I truly wonder what Hector will sound like in the 6th Form! Alice's (Priory House) voice was well suited to Schonberg’s Castle On A Cloud, it was delightful. Tara (Arion House) sung Schwartz’s Popular; Tara has a superb voice and again I was wondering what is she going to sound like in four years’ time? I really enjoyed Rosie's (Priory House) When Somebody Loved Me; Rosie has a great voice and also brought a little drama to the performance. Juliette (Wellesley House) performed My Ship by Weill, this is the best that I’ve heard her perform, she really seemed to shine! My congratulations to all involved. An album from the evening can be seen below along with a selection of audio recordings which can be played.
