We're pleased to announce a fantastic result of 2nd place for the King's Bruton & Hazlegrove joint team in the 2017 UK Mathematics Trust Junior Team Maths Challenge.
This regional competition was held at Millfield School on Wednesday 15th March. The team are ‘chuffed to bits’ after winning 2nd place against approximately thirty other neighbouring schools. The team consisted of Rowan and Adam from King's Bruton and Isaac and Tom from Hazlegrove. The Team Maths Challenge is a competition which gives pupils the opportunity to tackle a variety of engaging mathematical activities while developing teamwork and communication skills. The team met up on Tuesday for a training session before competing at Millfield on Wednesday. Throughout the afternoon the boys battled with a group round, a shuttle round, a crossnumber, and finally a relay round. ‘We are very proud of the pupils’ achievement and it was a joy to work with the Hazlegrove team over the last couple of days. We hope to build upon this superb success in the future’ said King's Bruton's Head of Maths, Laurie Phippard.
