Fantastic feedback for Hermione and Mae at the Springboard Future Chef Competition...
On Tuesday 9th January, two King's Bruton pupils (Hermione and Mae), competed in the Somerset’s heat of the Springboard Future Chef Competition. Pupils have to turn up to a professional catering kitchen, are given a quick tour of their workspaces, and then they have an hour to create their dishes in front of 4 chefs and college staff. It is a challenging experience for the pupils, as they are under an incredible amount of pressure (MasterChef format!).
The two pupils had fantastic feedback, and were told that if they had competed 3 years ago they would have won, the standard of this year was extremely high.
Hermione came a very close second - 2 marks behind the winner and was just pipped by the complexity of the dish. Well done to the girls who took part, they are absolute superstars.
