The King’s Bruton Motorsport electric kit car had its first competitive outing at the Goodwood Motor Circuit on Sunday in the GreenPower F24+ challenge race...
The L6th Form team, impressively led by Bertie, had worked hard to get the car ready and race worthy in the previous weeks. Problems had to be rectified on race day after the practice session, with expert advice proving invaluable from Mr Weekes, Harvey’s father. The race took place in glorious sunshine, with the added excitement of a WW2 Spitfire taking off and landing on the adjacent aerodrome every 30 minutes. Bertie drove well and the car made excellent progress before, unfortunately, the motor overheated with 10 minutes of the hour race to go. This first race was a great learning experience for everyone, and the team are determined to improve, upgrade and adjust the car ready for the next race in September.

It was a great first weekend for the team. Despite not being able to finish the race due to an overheating issue, we managed to put in a solid number of laps. We learnt a lot about our car and are already working on improvements. Thankyou to everyone who supported us and followed our progress.
