New House are victorious in the Inter-House Chess Tournament...
After last year’s strict Covid restrictions, it was great to play this year’s Tournament in more normal circumstances. Games were played face-to-face with masks in December, before we had to have a pause in January when the surge of absences due to Covid made play more difficult to organise. Nevertheless, we finally played the last two rounds on Friday 4th March and I am delighted to announce the results:
House Results
- 1st: New House
- 2nd: Lyon House
- 3rd: Blackford House
- 4th: Priory House
- Joint 5th: Arion House and Wellesley House
Individual Results
- 1st: Robert (3rd Form - New House)
- 2nd: Isaac (U6th Form - Lyon House)
- Joint 3rd: Tyler (L6th Form - New House) and Kit (U6th Form New House)
The New House win was partially due to the excellent results of Robert, Tyler and Kit, but they were also buoyed up by the sheer weight of numbers; Carl, Jared, Tom, Oliver and Ludo all took part in the Tournament. It was a great team effort and a result for all the boys to be proud of.
Honourable Mention
Must be made of all the others who played for their Houses:
- Lyon: Max
- Blackford: Nathan, Toby, Harry and Will
- Priory: Ellie, Carlotta and Clara
- Arion: Abi and Sami
- Wellesley: Anya
