Chemistry Educational Trips

Last Monday evening, the chemists travelled to Sherborne Girls School for another fantastic symposium.

Talks were delivered on whether vaping is safer than smoking, recycling plastics and bioplastics, endorphins and the chemistry of photography. During the penultimate talk of this symposium, Harry presented his research on the topical outbreak of a potentially fatal vaping-linked lung disease occurring in the United States, which is thought to be connected to the use of tocopheryl acetate (a vitamin E additive) in the vape liquid.

Many thanks go to Sherborne Girls School for hosting this event and to all the speakers for such a well-researched and enlightening series of talks.
