Sixth Form Life at King's

With the 6th Form Formal Dinner less than a week away, a dozen or so boys have been taking advantage of Mr Bunday’s bow tie tying lessons.

This tricky and intricate skill is difficult to master and led to a great deal of frustration. The boys came with the expectation of being able to tie the perfect bow tie within minutes, however, they forgot how long it took them to learn to tie a normal tie or their shoe laces! Starting off with tying the bow around their legs, they then tried to transfer the skill to their neck where the real difficulties began. However, they all moved forward and understood the basic instructions, and so with a great deal of practice in front of the mirror they will all look the part next week. There are some who would deem the ability to tie a bow tie as a crucial ‘life skill’ and these young men are on the cusp of mastering it!
