Last Friday, Old Brutonian, Commander Mark Hammon, invited fourteen cadets from the Royal Navy Section of the CCF for a day out on the P200 Naval Patrol vessels under his command in Portsmouth.
After an early start, we steamed out of Portsmouth Harbour past the closely guarded Queen Elizabeth Aircraft Carrier. The cadets were split into two groups with a boat apiece, and so what better way to start than a drag race! The Navy looked after us extremely well, great fun was had by all, particularly those that had a turn at the helm. We even had time for a picnic in the sun on the way home!
