On Monday evening the Sixth Form Chemists attended the last symposium of this academic year at Sherborne Girls' School.
Talks were delivered on fluorine, the importance of bioluminescence in the lives of marine organisms, the origins of life on earth, the chemistry behind crime scenes and hangovers. The final talk of the evening entitled 'Cordite' included a practical demonstration of cordite exploding and was presented by Nikita, Timofey and Felix from King's - they did an excellent job! My congratulations to all the pupils involved in what has been another excellent year of symposiums.
