Choir Music

On Tuesday 30th January the Chapel Choir travelled to Worcester Cathedral to sing a service of Choral Evensong.

The choir were in excellent form - music for the service included: Sumsion’s Preces and Responses and his setting of the Canticles in G. The anthem was Charles Wood’s Expectans Expectavi. The Chapel Choir sang with particular attention to blend and the acoustic was used to the full. The singing of Psalms 134 and 135 was particularly impressive with careful attention to dynamics and diction. The Cathedral clergy leading the service were impressed by the standard of singing and have invited the Chapel Choir to make a return visit. It was good to have parents and grandparents supporting in the congregation as well as former parents who had two sons in Lyon House. Congratulations to all involved!
