King’s Bruton pupils enjoyed an excellent chance to investigate Higher Education opportunities beyond the UK...
Representatives from seven outstanding global universities visited King’s, setting up stalls in the 6th Form Centre to provide information and guidance on their universities, and wider education possibilities in their countries.
Closest to home, was the Hotelschool The Hague, with particular appeal to King’s pupils studying Hospitality and Business courses. In a similar vein were Les Roches and Glion Schools of Luxury Business and Hospitality, with bases in Switzerland, Spain, China and the UK. The innovative IE University, with its new skyscraper campus in Madrid, represented Spain. From further afield, were Stony Brook and Loyola Marymount Universities in New York State and Los Angeles respectively, and the leading Canadian university of Queen’s on the shores of Lake Ontario. The group was finished with the applied learning approach of Hult International Business School, spanning both sides of the Atlantic.
Parents and pupils alike benefitted from the advice given by the experienced admissions officers present, as well as the expert guidance from Sheena, from The University Guys, who accompanied the fair. It was informative to hear about the different education systems available, many of which counter common assumptions of what university must look like, helping pupils take one step closer to finding their fit in the international university scene.
