Taunton Youth Music Theatre Competition...

On Sunday 6^th March, Jenna, Jemima and Amelia travelled to Taunton School to participate in the Taunton Youth Music Theatre Competition as part of the Taunton Festival of the Arts. All three presented interesting and varied programmes and performed at a very high standard. The standard of the entrants was high, but Amelia, Jemima and Jenna all rose to the challenge impressively. It was good to hear interpretations of musical theatre songs both known and unknown. After a long afternoon, the adjudicator (Claire Barnett-Jones) had her work cut out in trying to place the 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd prizes. After a tense 20 minutes, Claire returned to deliver her adjudication; Jemima was awarded 1^st Place with Amelia being Highly Commended.

Well done and congratulations to Amelia, Jemima and Jenna, and particularly to Jemima on winning the competition - the adjudicator was blown away by how well Jemima engaged the audience and delivered her programme in addition to the standard of singing.
