We are incredibly proud of what the pupils have managed to achieve throughout the last two years.
The work on show highlights the vast variety of outstanding work that continues to be produced at King’s Bruton. The U6th cohort have created an enormous amount of dynamic and individual work, ranging from early life class experimentation, all the way through to accomplished large scale 3-Dimensional pieces. Even without having so much opportunity for first-hand visits to galleries, the pupils have worked with great independence and resourcefulness. As you might imagine remote learning in Art has been tricky, to say the least, but our pupils have excelled and have overcome any issues faced.
The GCSE cohort is the best in modern memory, and although they've missed out on the opportunity to produce a final exam piece, this has played into the hands of a lot of them, as it means they've had extended time for their coursework outcomes. This extra time has allowed for greater quality to be produced.
We as a Department are immensely proud of all that has been achieved. We pride ourselves on our individuality, our creativity and our ability to allow young artists to flourish in a safe, dynamic and expressive space. We wish all those taking A-Level Art, and those are going off to university, a rich and rewarding experience. We are left with only fond memories and a great sense of pride. Thank you CLASS of 2021.
