BTECs Concert

Following their visit to the Dorchester earlier in the week, the BTEC pupils were inspired to put on a 'Harlequin' tea for over ninety guests at a Community Concert in the School's Memorial Hall.

The pupils were able to use their knowledge and the understanding of five star customer service that they experienced during their recent trip to London. The ‘Harlequin’ tea was inspired by one of the luxurious bedroom suites the pupils were shown on their extensive tour of the Dorchester Hotel. The pupils were also lucky enough to receive some useful advice from the highly trained waiters to enable them to attempt silver service for the first time and to serve the tea in the spirit of the Dorchester.

Throughout the event the Military Band provided some delightful music. The first half of the programme saw members of the band present solo pieces; some stunning singing as well as great instrumental pieces were appreciated by all. In the second half of the programme the band performed a number of marches and film music. All in all the afternoon was most enjoyable and proved to be a great event to showcase the various talents and skills pupils have developed. An album from the afternoon can be viewed below.
