Monday 14th November saw 56 pupils from the 5th Form and 6th Form taking part in this year’s Engineering Challenge Day.
Working in groups of five, they were tasked with building models of a survival shelter, communications tower and bridge from only paper, nuts and bolts. All groups produced excellent models and should be congratulated on their efforts. The winning team was Team 1, consisting of Catherine Coulson, David Court, Ollie Crossfield, Sam Innes and Harry MacLeod-Ash. It was wonderful to see the Physics and Design Techonology Departments partnering up for the day with pupils from both subjects using their skills to build their constructions. A photo album from the day can be viewed below.
