A smart new look for our KSBMotorSport car at the Goodwood International Final of the Greenpower Challenge...
On Sunday 8th October, the KSBMotorSport Team competed in the 25th International Final of the Greenpower Challenge at Goodwood Motor Circuit.
Prior to the Final, the Team had been working hard, preparing the vehicle to peak performance. This included some major developments including the replacement of the aluminium on the car with a much lighter material which led to a saving of over 10kg in weight. Our power to weight ratio improved and we managed to achieve our best ever lap times at Goodwood Motor Circuit for the King’s Bruton race car.
The race started off well with the car making a flying start, but sadly on the third lap a fault with the battery connector caused the car to slow down. Hannah, our driver, had to pit. Fixing the vehicle meant we lost five laps, but we got back on track and had a superb last four laps, moving up six places in the final 20 minutes. The KSBMotorSport Team finished 16th place in class.
The Team are now reflecting on the race and are already thinking about and working on the next raft of improvements. This currently includes testing and replacing aging batteries and re-engineering the battery connections.
Thank you from the KSBMotorSport Team to Refit-International, Mogers Drewett, Lodestone Property and The Friends of Bruton for sponsoring the team and helping make this journey possible. Your ongoing support has been amazing.
