Positive feedback from King's parents after our first PSHEE webinar...

Three years ago, the idea of being able to do parent webinars would have been thought to be a logistical nightmare, and many of us had never heard of TEAMS. However yesterday, we held our first ever PSHEE parent webinar for 24 parents at King’s. The webinar was a talk on drugs and substances by Zoe Shuttleworth, who is a speaker from ITHappensEducation, and who spoke to our pupils in October on the same topics. Topics discussed included vaping, harm reduction and consent. Zoe’s talk to parents was superb using the interactive tool Menti and giving parents a chance to ask questions. There has been lots of positive feedback, and it is clear that online webinars are now a wonderful way of involving parents and enabling them to access the PSHEE curriculum in schools.

‘I was very impressed by Zoe’s presentation. Very tough for kids to make the right decisions in today’s world’

‘It was very informative and most useful to know some of what our children have been told so we can have a more informed discussion with them too.’

‘It was a great webinar. Thank you. I learnt an awful lot’

‘Really very good.  So helpful for parents who lack knowledge about the whole drugs scene!’
