An interesting day at the Morgan Motor Company for DT pupils...

On Tuesday, a group of 14 Product Design pupils and members of the King’s Bruton Motorsport Greenpower Team enjoyed a superb trip to Morgan Motor Company in Great Malvern to experience first-hand how these iconic cars are made.

Morgan cars are hand built using a combination of traditional and modern manufacturing methods, and the factory tour showcases a magnificent range of woodworking, metalworking and upholstery skills. We were able to encounter many of the unique features of the assembly line at the Morgan Motor Company, which  allowed our pupils to get close to the varied and detailed parts of the production process and assembly line, literally seeing cars transformed from a timber and aluminium shell to a finished product. Whilst there, we were also able to visit the Museum which plots the history of this exceptional company, as well as wander through the showroom, admiring the finished vehicles. A memorable day was had by all.
