On Friday 18th November King’s hosted Kirstie Macleod and her famous Red Dress...
The audience delighted in learning all about the dress and what motivated Kirstie to undertake the project. It was a humbling evening, as we were told all about the artisans who contributed to the making of it, many of which lived in poverty or were struggling with oppressive lives, and the lasting effect the dress has had on each of them.
One of Kirstie’s aims is to unite individuals. By coming to King’s and sharing her experiences Kirstie allowed us all to be part of this incredible journey, uniting us in a common. The embroidered dress is simply magnificent, of regal quality, and we all felt privileged to be able to learn all about it. All in all it was a superb evening for everyone involved, thank you Kirstie Macleod.
